Sick Puppy
Lucky, my lovely puppy, was sick! I was really worried about her yesterday. She was sick in the morning and she did not want to eat any breakfast or dinner. Lucky did not even want to go for a walk and just lay in her basket and slept. Mum decided to take her to the vet.
This morning, we took Lucky to the vet with my mum and sister, Mary, by taxi. In the taxi, Lucky felt extremely sick and tired. When we arrived at the vet clinic, we lined up and registered at the reception. We saw a lot of sick pets there, but mum felt Lucky looked the sickest and she worried about Lucky very much. We had to wait for a long time until we could see the vet. When it was our turn, mum told the vet that Lucky refused to eat anything and did not want to go on any walks and just stayed in bed. After that, the vet laid Lucky on the examination table and did checkup.
“What have you fed the dog?” asked the vet pointing at some brownish stain around its lips.
Mum took a closer look and said, “It is chocolate! She must have eaten the expired chocolate that I was going to throw away!”
Mystery solved. The vet told mum that Lucky got dyspepsia because she ate chocolate which dogs were not supposed to eat. Finally, he gave Lucky some medicine to take.
In the next few days, we took extra care of Lucky. Then, she fully recovered really soon. We felt happy all over again. I also learnt that we should never give a dog any chocolate to eat.
